Wounded Hawk

Wounded Hawk (To overcome despite damage)

Stephen Hawking, I bet you hate it in that wheelchair
Is it the price you pay,
To be on that stage, sitting up there?

They all wait,
for your words
Waiting for you,
To change their worlds

Did you dream that you’d walk on
down the isle on your wedding day?
Did you dream that you’d awake from
the dream that won’t let you sing or scream
(do you still do?)

And I’d rather roll a mile in your shoes
Then to walk in mine
And I’d rather roll a mile in your shoes
Then to walk in mine
‘Cause history will remember your name
and forget mine
So I’d rather roll a mile in your shoes
then to walk to mine
(walk in mine)
